Summary
Avenue Engage requires geolocation permissions to validate mobile clock-in. This article explains how to enable geolocation correctly.
Step-by-step instructions
Open the Avenue Engage mobile app.
When prompted, allow location access.
If the permission was previously denied, go to your phone settings:
iOS: Settings > Engage > Location > Enable “Allow While Using App”
Android: Settings > Apps > Engage > Permissions > Enable Location
Return to the app and complete your Check-In.
Note:
The system requests geolocation permission only once. Your location is captured only at the moment of clock-in.
Legal Use of Geolocation
Mobile clock-in apps are legally valid as long as employer and employee agree to their use. Geolocation-based timekeeping is considered an alternative timekeeping system, regulated by Brazil’s Ministry of Labor (formerly Ordinance 373, now Ordinance 671).
To be legally compliant, mobile clock-in systems must:
Not restrict clock-in
Not allow automatic clock-in
Always be accessible
Prevent workers from altering or deleting records
Companies may adopt this technology after formal validation through Collective Labor Conventions or Agreements.
